Become A Volunteer!
We've got a busy schedule year-round with all kinds of events, programs and activities. Whether we’re sponsoring free flu shots, ringing in the joy of the season at our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony, helping other community organizations with their neighborhood events, or producing the three-day annual West Oak Lane Jazz & Arts Festival, there's always a critical need for volunteers.
Being a volunteer is very rewarding. Volunteers learn valuable skills, and have a lot of fun at the same time. A network of dependable volunteers is essential to our community revitalization work. Volunteers keep a sharp eye on what's going on in our neighborhood, and help us maintain a presence in the community. Over the years, we've partnered with a variety of organizations in and around Northwest Philadelphia, and connected them with willing and able volunteers ready to take on any assignment.
For information on becoming a volunteer with OARC or another organization in West Oak Lane, please contact our Event Manager Tara L. Johnson at 215-754-0016 tjohnson@oarcphilly.org .
Sponsorship Opportunities!
OARC is always looking for new and innovative ways to foster economic development in the community. Accomplishing our mission takes sponsors, and there are plenty of opportunities for sponsorships! Businesses, groups and individuals who share our values and vision are an inspirational force and part of our drive to keep researching, planning and building greater quailty of life options for our residents.
We encourage the collaboration that unique sponsorships offer - developing educational and training programs, community beautification projects and projects that attract new businesses and entrepreneurs. In particular, the West Oak Lane Jazz & Arts Festival attracts sponsorships that help brand your company name and allow you to meet your corporate citizenship and community affairs goals.
